Guatemala - From the volcanic mountainsides in the heart of Guatemala, this coffee is balanced and approachable. Guatemalan coffee has a proud history that dates back to the early 1700s. Today the Huehuetenango region in western Guatemala is considered a “coffee economy,” with around 80 percent of the area’s residents getting their income from the coffee trade. The region’s high altitude and nutrient-rich tropical soil imbue its coffees with a sweetness and mild acidity that is anchored by a full-bodied earthiness that will give you visions of the verdant, misty Central American highlands.
